Red, green or solid, here's what the lights on your NBN connection box mean...

DETERMINING THE STATUS OF YOUR CONNECTION

The table below tells you what the combinations mean:

Light Indicator Meaning Action
Power a) Green
b) Off
a) Power on
b) No power
a) No action required
b) Check the NBN NTD is plugged in and switched on
Status a) Green flashing
b) Green
c) Amber flashing
d) Red
a) Normal operation
b) Device in test mode
c) Device is starting up and installing
d) There is a system fault
a) No action required
b) No action required
c) No action required
d) Reset the NBN NTD. If this doesn't fix the issue, call 1300 677 406
Outdoor Unit (ODU) a) Green
b) Green flashing
c) Red
d) Red flashing
a) Online
b) Activity
c) Offline
d) There is an error
a) No action required
b) No action required
c) Reset the NBN NTD. If this doesn't fix the issue, call 1300 677 406
d) Reset the NBN NTD. If this doesn't fix the issue, call 1300 677 406
Signal a) Red
b) Amber
c) Green
a) Low signal strength (no error)
b) Medium signal strength
c) High signal reach
No action required

To reset your NBN connection box:
  • Turn off the powerpoint that your NBN NTD is plugged into
  • Wait 20 seconds
  • Turn the power back on
  • After 1-2 minutes, you should see these lights:
  • Power - solid green
  • Status - flashing green
  • ODU - solid or flashing green
  • Signal - red, amber or green
