What do all the lights on my NBN HFC connection box mean?

If you have an HFC NBN connection, the lights on your box will tell you about the status of your connection. Here's what the combinations mean!

Above shows you what a HFC connection looks like. When it starts up, each light should flash while the NBN Connection Box connects to the NBN network.

Once it’s connected, all lights should go green.

  • Wait 1-2 minutes.
  • If it doesn’t connect, reset the nbn Connection Box.
  • If you still have no connection, check that the coaxial cable is firmly screwed in to both your nbn Connection Box and the wall plate.
  • If none of this works, call us on 1300 677 406

No action required, but do not turn off the nbn Connection Box until the firmware update is complete and all lights have returned to solid green

No power to NBN connection box
Check the nbn Connection Box is plugged in and switched on

To reset your NBN connection box:

  • Turn off the power point that your nbn Connection Box is plugged into
  • Wait 20 seconds
  • Turn the power back on
  • After 1-2 minutes, all lights should be green.
