If you have an HFC nbn connection, the lights on your box will tell you about the status of your connection – but what do the combinations means?
Red or green, flashing or solid? What the different combinations mean.
Want to know how to make the best use of your office space so you can have the best internet connection set-up in your office? Here are a few tips!
What is VoIP?
VoIP stands for "Voice over Internet Protocol" and it is a more flexible and modern solution to traditional landline phones.
With VoIP, you don't need the physical infrastructure or any wiring to get it running. The service works by transmitting and receiving sound through the internet. The only infrastructure required to run your VoIP phone is a reliable internet connection.
What is a PBX?
PBX stands for "Private Branch Exchange", which is a private telephone network used within a company or organisation.
We offer Cloud PBX (also known as Hosted PBX or Virtual PBX), and it is the next evolution in PBX technology.
Cloud PBX does not require a physical unit or any clunky infrastructure or switchboards in your premises. It allows you to manage your phone systems instantly over the internet.
What can PBX do for my business?
The main incentive for utilising your NBN connection for voice is the value. Customers on average save at least 50%, compared to infrastructure-based PBX solutions.
Minimal infrastructure means a simplified office with everything connected via your NBN network. No more racks and switches to take up space and chew through power.
Free calls is another one of the perks - you're using the internet!
What sort of pricing structure do you have?
Simply provide us with a bill of your current Telco, and our sales team will create you a better price with a tailored solution for your business.
Will my router/modem affect my speeds
Yes, the hardware you use will affect what kind of speeds you can reach. Our favourite and most recommended modem is the Netcomm Business Grade!
What is a static IP address?
A Static IP is a fixed address that is assigned to a device by an Internet Service Provider (ISP). These IP addresses don't change, which means that other devices will be able to find and connect to the device easily.
Having a Static IP means that your business can utilise file hosting on a network server, access printers over the network, host a website or email server for your business and set up remote access to your network when you're away from the office.

How easy is it to transfer?
As our support member Dylan stated, it's "Easy as pie!"
Our support team works closely with our engineering and porting teams, who collate your numbers from your provided bill. Once that porting request is lodged by us and accepted by your previous Telco, then that's it. You're now part of our premium Aussie network.
How long does it take to port my number to central telecoms?
Once the port request is lodged, it can take anywhere between 2 to 12 weeks (depending on your previous carrier) to transfer. Until the port-over request is accepted from your previous Telco, your services will still be connected to them.
Why should I switch to Central Telecoms?
After years of working with the largest Telecoms companies throughout the world, we decided that the level of ethics, customer support and localised knowledge was severely lacking.
No longer should you have to ring off-shore call-centres for a simple billing or technical related query. We provide telecommunication services to Regional Australian Businesses to ensure a swift, simple and transparent transition to the NBN.
Do I need a 4G Failover on my NBN service?
4G Failovers are becoming essential for business-grade connections to keep services online and minimise downtime in case there's an unexpected outage.
Having a 4G Failover provides a great backup plan for a business that cannot afford any downtime.
