Pretty soon we're expecting four new iPhone models: an iPhone 12,  iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and an iPhone 12 Pro Max.

While Apple has been shy about releasing too many details, here's what we know so far.

While we don't know the official details yet, there are plenty of rumours about Apple's next generation of iPhones, which give us a picture of what to look forward to.

  • The iPhone 12 is expecting a slight redesign, meaning that their rounded corners are being switched with squared-off corners. It's also rumoured that Apple will be releasing an iPhone 12 Mini for anyone who thinks their phones have gotten too big to fit in their pocket!
  • The iPhone 12 Mini is said to have a 5.4-inch display and is expected to look a little similar to the iPhone 11. The smaller display means it will be between the iPhone 5 and 8 in size.
  • The iPhone 12 is suggested to have a 6.1-inch display, just as we saw with last year's iPhone 11.
  • Both the iPhone 12 and 12 Mini are rumoured to have a higher resolution OLED display, rather than LCD, which we saw in the last round of models. This means we'll see a sharper and more vibrant display!
  • The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro Max are said to be larger than ever. While the iPhone 12 Pro is rumoured to be around 6.1 inches, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is said to be 6.7 inches.

iPhone growth scale pinched from Mac Rumours shows how the phones compare in size

  • It is said that the iPhone 12 and 12 Max with stick with dual rear-facing cameras with a 12MP primary lens and 12MP ultra-wide lens. The iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max will likely have up to 3 lenses, with a possible 12MP zoom lens.
  • Apple has been big on LiDar tech lately and included it in this year's iPad Pro. LiDar tech can accurately sense depth and space for augmented reality apps and can help you get the best use of your camera by being able to accurately measure space.
  • At this stage, it's only a rumour whether or not LiDar will be included in the new models, or if it will be only exclusive to the Pro and Pro Max.
  • While the iPhone 11 had a battery that could easily last up to a day, it is unclear if the iPhone 12 will live up to its predecessor.
  • We heard that the iPhone 12 models will all be powered by an A14 processor, which will be Apple's fastest chip yet!
  • This is the same processor found in this years iPad Air.
  • It is expected that the iPhone 12 should be around 20% - 28% faster than the iPhone 11. (Depending on what App you're using!)

iPhone 11 Colours

  • We definitely expect both a black and white option, but it's too early to say for sure what other colour choices there will be.
  • There are rumours that there'll be a range of colours such as light blue, violet, light orange, gold and navy.
  • Apple has confirmed an unveiling on tomorrow -  13th of October.
  • The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro are said to go on sale first, followed by the 12 Mini and Pro Max later on.
